In 1947 although we have got independence from the Britishers then a new fight started, that is to fight against different nations and protect our nation from terror and alien enemies. The country shares boundary with different nations and Our country always indulge in a war-like situation with our neighboring countries at different point of time.
Our Indian Army has fought many wars with these nations and here are some facts about our Indian Army.
• According to the Global Firepower list 2020, India has the 4th most powerful military in the world after Russia, the USA, and China.
• The Gorkha Regiment is one of the most powerful regiment, It is said that Adolf Hitler also wanted to achieve the Gorkha regiment of India. We have all heard about Adolf Hitler, how powerful and dangerous he was, he has said that if he would have a Gorkha regiment, then he would take the whole of Europe. He also believed that Gorkha Regiment is the only force in the world that has the strength to fight against the German attack.
• ‘High Attitude Warfare' school of the Indian Army is considered to be the largest elite military training center in the world, at that time the Special force of Russia was also trained here.
• The largest bridge in the world has even been built by the Indian Army. The name of the bridge is Bailey Bridge and it is built over Dras and the Suru river in Laddhak. This bridge was built in 1982.
• The world's highest battlefield is also under the control of the Indian Army. Siachen glacier is situated 5000 meters above sea level. At how much height it is impossible for a normal human being to survive. At such an altitude the oxygen level is very low and the temperature reaches -60 degrees, the food items freeze in seconds. • INS ARIHANT is a nuclear-powered ballistic missile, being built for the Indian Navy, it was launched in 2009. It has the power to shoot from 0.5 km underwater, Due to INS ARIHANT, India becomes the 6th country to have its Nuclear Submarine.
• ARJUN or ARJUN MK II is counted under the most advanced tanks of the world. It has a high accuracy to the target, it can work both in day and night and travels with the speed of 40 kmph. This tank is names after the Arjun, the archer prince who is the main protagonist of the Indian Epic Mahabharata.
• AGNI-V is an Indian Nuclear- capable ballistic missile developed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation, it has a range of 5000km. with these India is in an equivalent position to the USA, Russia, China, and France.
• AGNI-VI is an intercontinental ballistic missile that is under the development process, it has a range of almost 1000 km, with the development of this missile India will get the power to attack anywhere in the world.
• PRITHVI is a Tactical Surface-to-Surface Short-Range ballistic missile, Developed BY DRDO, missile of this series is also very devastating even if it is shot with fewer payloads. PRITHVI and AGNI missiles have the most accurate missile system in the world.
• NIRBHAYA, a long-range, all-weather, subsonic cruise missile, developed by Aeronautical Development Establishment, which is under DRDO. It can be launched from multiple platforms. The missile has a fire and forgets system that cannot be Jammed. Once near the target, it can even hover, striking at will from any direction.
BrahMos, it has been developed by Russia and India and is named after the river Brahmaputra and Moskva in Russia, it is the fastest cruise missile of its class in the world. It flies almost three times the speed of sound. BrahMos 1 is already available with 13 variants and now India and Russia are working over BrahMos 2.
• MARCOS, Marine Commands the Indian Navy’s elite special force, that specializes in everything from counter-terrorism to underwater operations, they are trained for conducting special operations in all types of environment, at sea, air, and on land. This unit uses the most advanced weapons of the Indian Armed forces. India also has another unit which is called Para Commando, which is considered one of the best forces in the world, they are considered as the lethal killers, this is among the most dangerous armed force of the world.
• In the years 1970 and 1990 India has tested its Nuclear Arsenal and the CIA of America has no clue of the same, which was the biggest failure of the CIA.
• BATTLE OF LONGEWALA 1971, one of the biggest war between India and Pakistan, in which India faces 2 causalities, 120 Indian Soldier accompanied by 4 Hunter fighter aircraft has stopped 2000 Pakistani soldiers accompanied by 30-40 tanks whole night and in the morning Indian Army destroyed the Pakistani Army with the help of air force.
